How it works:
The process starts with the arrival of harvesting trolleys carrying full crates of cucumbers. Using the unloading system, the full crates are placed onto the conveyor belt and transported to the crate tipping system. Here, the crates are automatically emptied, after which the cucumbers are transported towards the sorting machine.

The empty crates are conveyed through the crate tipping system to the crate replace system. This crane automatically stacks the empty crates back onto the harvesting trolleys.

The cucumbers are fed into the sorting machine one by one and transported through the machine in cups. The cups guide the cucumbers underneath the Aweta Dual Vision camera system, where each cucumber is inspected for characteristics including length, width, curvature and diameter. Based on these measurements, the sorting machine determines the correct grade and automatically transports each cucumber to the corresponding outlet.
